Harvest Festival

Last nite my parent's church had their harvest festival. Nate worked at our churches festival which was on sat nite (he worked security and was also a judge in the baked goods contest). It was nice that we were all able to go to one of these festivals since Chloe and I could not make it to our churches festival. I have not been feeling so good with the morning (actually some days all day) sickness and Chloe has been recovering from a cold so we didnt want to push it and take her to both festivals.

They had a lot of things to do at the festival, like the bounce houses and games, a petting zoo (that was Chloe's favorite) and horse rides and good food (I, being prego and all, and even with the sicky, really enjoyed the food!!:) ). Chloe's cousins, Hope and Hailey were there, along with Auntie Di, Uncle Gordon, Gpa & Gma Britting, Mommy & Daddy and some friends, too (unfortunately these photos did not turn out so I dont have any of these guys, just Daddy & Chloe, but they were all there). So, enjoy the photos of our little monkey!

Chloe in the petting zoo with daddy...she loved it!! She could have stayed in there all nite long if we let her.

Glasses

Chloe has been turning in her eyes now & then recently, so we decided to take her back to see the Pediatric Opthalmologist. We saw him when she was 8 months old, thinking she may have had some crossing of her eyes then, but she ended up having what is called pseudostrabismus which means it looks like she is crossing her eyes when in reality she is not. She has a flat bridge to her nose that causes the skin around her eyes to be flatter than normal covering parts of the whites of her eyes making it look like she is crossing them. Well, now she truly is slightly crossing them. He believes she could have Esotropia, means a child who chronically turns in their eyes (in a very small nut shell). She is not text book, though, so it was difficult for him to make a diagnosis. She is not chronic & can self correct. In fact her focusing is quite good.

So, the doc recommended glasses to start & we will be back to see him in 4 months or so to see about her progress. Surgery is a possibility, but not until he eleminates all non-invasive alternatives. He tells us the surgery is out-patient & real quick & fairly painless. That is good news. So, for the time being, she will be wearing glasses. Oh, boy does that bring back memories. I had to wear them starting before I was 3 so I soooooo understand everything our baby is going through. We don't have the glasses yet, they have to be ordered, but soon we will have them & the next challenge will be keeping them on her. So, keep checking back & as soon as we get them, I will take a photo with her in her new glasses!! She looks pretty darn cute if I do say so myself...

Praises

And we have so many of them and have so much to be thankful for...but the newest one will be our newest addition to the family! Yep, we are expecting another bundle of joy sometime in the spring (late may, early june). We are excited & a bit nervous. Please pray for us and the health of myself and the new baby. So far I am very thankful that I have only had some quickly passing nausea...but, I am only about 6 weeks along. We will let you know the details as they unfold. We know Chloe is going to make a wonderful big sis! We are truly blessed. Enjoy the photos below.
