Camping

Friends of ours, John and Kelly, invited us to go camping with them last week and we readily excepted. We love to camp and were excited, and a little nervous, about Chloe's first camping trip. We camped in the Tahoe National Forest. We all had a lot of fun. I am relieved to report that Chloe had fun and endured the fall cold like a little trooper. I am so proud of her!! Following are photos of our camping trip.

Next Stage

Nate and I just bought Chloe her new car seat. She will be growing out of her bucket car seat pretty soon and we thought this would be a good time to buy the next stage items. So, we bought her a convertible car seat and a new stroller. Needless to say Nate and I had a great laugh last nite while putting all this new stuff together because we are now the proud owners of 3, yes 3, strollers...and all for one kid!! Her first stroller was just the frame that holds the bucket seat (which I love and will be a little sad to be moving on from it), we have a jogger stroller (also great and will last a lot longer), and now a regular stroller. We even got her the "accessories" for transitioning to solid foods like rubber tipped spoons, infant bowls, sippy cups, etc. Boy, the gadgets out for kids is mind numbing, but I have to admit pretty cool. We really like her new car seat and stroller. It is a regular fun house around here with all this stuff. We will be buying the high chair pretty soon. Whats next I wonder...

Mini Army Crawl

Chloe is a little over 4 months old now and does what we like to call the "mini army crawl." no, she isnt crawling yet, way to early still, but she can get her legs under her belly and do a little scooting forward. She has been scooting around on her back for almost 2 months now, what I like to call the "crab walk", but now she can actually scoot forward just a little when she is on her belly. The things she can do so far are: squeal, babble, coo, make bubbles, use her tounge to sorta spit and make twirly noises, she balances perfectly on her tummy with her head straight up, she focuses on people and things really well, grabs her toys and plays, recognizes us, has started to reach for us (not consistantly yet), interacts with her toys really well, smiles all the time, laughs/gigles, rolls up on her sides and is about a hair from rolling completely over, and scoots a little forward on her belly (most of this stuff she has been perfecting now for the better part of 3 weeks and some she has been doing much longer). And to top it all off, she eats 4 times a day, takes three 1 1/2-2 hour naps a day and sleeps 12 hours through the nite (and has been consistantly sleeping through the nite since she was 8 weeks old). She also just had her 4 month doc appointment and did really well. The doc says she is growing beautifully and she did really well with her shots. Needless to say, we are so proud of our little bear cub!!:) It is so fun to watch all the new stuff she learns.
